Tommy Vaughn's Marathon 2013

 Earlier this year, my sister Deena and I decided to surprise our family and run the 10k at the Tommy Vaughn's Marathon.  We kept it a secret for months until Dawnette noticed our names on the list when she picked up her packet the day before the race.  Dang her!!  Here we are before the race.  Deena hooked me up with a green Basic American Foods t-shirt.

It was a cold, windy day.  Deena and I were right next to each other until about the last mile.  The wind was right in our face and I slowed way down.  She beat me by 1 minute.  :(

 Almost to the finish line.  Right before I crossed the finish line, I looked up and saw my cute little Dad smiling at me.  :)  I did it in 1 hour and 3 minutes.

 Here is a picture of everyone that ran.  Dave(5k), Austin(5k), Dawnette(half), Me(10k), Deena(10k), Marilee(half), and Doug(half).  4 out of 5 of my siblings ran that day.  I think my parents were pretty proud.

Downtown Dance Recital 2013

This was Hallie's 5th year of dance.  I can't believe she has been doing it that long.  She loves to dance and she especially loves the recital.  She was front and center for most of the dance.

Memorial Weekend 2013

For Memorial weekend this year, we went to Sawmill Canyon

 This is how Sean spent his first couple of hours of camping. :) Some spring broke on our camp trailer and he had to unhook everything so we could get a new part.

 My Mom, Hallie, Hank, and I went on a walk to the creek.  On our way we found this bird nest on the road.  Who knows what happened to the Mom and there was still 1 egg that had not been cracked.

 Deena and Brandee came on Sunday and we hiked up to Mill Creek Lake.

 Dewey had to get one last ride in.

The weather was the best we have had in years.  We didn't even get snowed on this year.

Wax Museum

 Mrs. Taufu'i recently had her class do a wax museum in the Library.  All of her student's had to pick someone famous from the past and do a report on them.  After studying this person, they found costume's and a prop.  (Notice Hallie has a green sticker on her hand) When you pushed their "button", they would come to life and tell you a little bit about their person.  Hallie was nervous, but she did so good!  Hallie picked Emma Edwards.  She is well known for designing the Great Seal of Idaho.  She is the only woman to ever design a Great Seal.

Field Trip To The Zoo

 I was recently able to go to the zoo with Dewey and his Kindergarten friends.  I even got to ride on the bus.  :)  All of the students were given animal print sunglasses to wear.  I sat with Dewey and Jace.  (You will notice that Dewey hit his chin on the trampoline the day before and got a horrible looking bruise).

 Not sure if this is a Llama or what, but we had to laugh because it just had a fresh shave and looked so funny.

 We heard the Lion roaring and rushed over to see it, but by the time we got to it's den it quit.  I was happy to get a picture of it standing because they are usually lying down sleeping.

 Dewey wanted to take a picture of the snow leopard and this is how it turned out.  We teased him that he just wanted to get a picture of cute little Kelsi instead.  :)

The field trip was a lot of fun!  I am glad that I am able to stay at home and do these things with my kids.
