So glad this is over!!

A couple of weeks ago, we discovered that the boys were exposed to hand, mouth and foot disease.  Dewey was the first to get it and it took him about 6 days to show any symptoms.  I first noticed that he was talking funny and he said that his throat was hurting.  Sure enough, he had a red rash on the back of his throat.  The next day, he started getting a rash on his hands, feet and ears.  His rash also had a few blisters here and there and was pretty itchy.  They say when the blisters are scabbed over and leaving, they are no longer contagious.  It took about 6 days for everything to start clearing up.  About the time Dewey was getting over it, Hank started to get it.  Hank wasn't quite as bad as Dewey was and his went away a little faster.  This is definitely something you don't want your kids to get.  Not being able to go anywhere for weeks, isn't fun!!  We are so glad it is over and we hope it never returns.  :)

Temple Square

The day after the Taylor Swift concert, we decided to walk around temple square.  It was the day before General Conference and there was a lot of people cleaning up the grounds and getting everything ready for the next day.  They were all ready starting to hang the Christmas lights.  We went in to the visitor's center, the old and new conference buildings, took a tour of the beehive house, and walked around the temple grounds.
We had a sister missionary take this picture of us.  Notice Hallie is sporting her new shirt.  :)

Here are the kids outside the beautiful wooden temple doors.  The weather was perfect and we had a great day walking around temple square.
This is a picture of the kids on the ride home.  This is also about the same time Sean and I busted out the Krispy Kreme doughnuts and enjoyed ourselves.  :)

Taylor Swift Concert

On Hallie's Birthday, way back in June, we bought her tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in Salt Lake.  Finally, after waiting almost 4 months, we left for Utah.  Hallie was so excited!!  "Need to Breathe" opened for Taylor.  They were pretty good, but not the reason we were there.  We were in our seats by 7pm and the show finally started at 8:30.  The concert was full of SCREAMING little girls!!  Hallie just stood there, until we told her it was ok to sing.  She pretty much sang every song after that.

Waiting for the show to start.
Our seats were up pretty high, but it was still a lot of fun.
Taylor came down off the stage and sang a few songs in the middle of the crowd.  This was a cool tree that lit up.  She had a lot of cool props.
This was a little balcony that she floated around in while she sang her Romeo and Juliet song.
Picture of Hallie with the stage in the background after the concert.
Hallie begged us for a t-shirt throughout the whole concert.  Here she is with her new Taylor Swift shirt.  Hallie was in heaven the whole night!!  It really was an awesome performance and we would consider going again in the future.

Dewey's 2nd Year of Preschool

Dewey started his second year at Small World preschool in September.  His teachers are Miss Jackie and Miss Cathy.  He was so excited for his first day.  This year he walked right up and went in all by himself.  He is a pro!!

Sawmill 2011

Labor Day weekend was our last camping trip for the year.  We went with my family to Sawmill Canyon.  It is one of my favorite places to go camping.  It's so pretty!  We were the first to arrive and since it was a holiday weekend, we had a hard time finding a spot to camp.  After about an hour of driving around, we found our spot.  The kids had plenty of room to ride 4-wheelers and motorcycles and the creek was close by.
Our kids were dying to go fishing and they finally got their chance.

Austin caught a fish and let Hank touch it.  He thought it was pretty funny.  They eventually put it back into the water and let it go.

We sat around the camp fire a lot and talked.

Hank loved playing around in the dirt and rocks.

The kids stayed entertained playing in the creek with their water boots.
Classic Dewey face.

First Day of 3rd Grade

The night before school started, Hallie was not feeling well and throwing up.  We were hoping that she would start to feel better for her first day of school the next morning.
Here is a picture of her about the time she should have been arriving at school.  Her stomach still felt a little queasy.  After a couple hours of laying around, Hallie decided that she felt better and wanted to go to school.

Hallie's teacher this year is Mr. Pope.  This is her first time having a male teacher and she loves him.  He is a great teacher!!
This is a picture of Dewey not long after we took Hallie to school.  He NEVER takes naps and this is how I found him on the couch.  Poor kid took his turn later that night.  Yuck!!

One Last Boating Trip

August 18-20, Jake and Amy invited us to their family cabin in Island Park.  We had a lot of fun boating, swimming, hanging out on the deck and just enjoying the weather.

Hallie loves to swim and was constantly in the water.  Here is a picture of her jumping off the dock and looking back at us.
Hank enjoyed dipping his feet in the water.
We also took the kids to Big Springs to see the fish.

The three Amigo's.

The kids caught a lot of minnows down by the dock.
