6 years old

Hallie recently turned 6 years old. As usual, we had a party with all of our families. She decided on an Oreo dessert and some cupcakes.

She was very spoiled as always and she even talked some of her grandparents into taking her shopping so she could pick out her own gifts. If you know Hallie, she loves to go shopping with her grandparents!!

This is most of the cousins that were at her birthday party.

Earlier that day, we went swimming with Gracie, Shaylee and Mitch. Sadly, I forgot to take my camera to the swimming pool. While we were swimming, Hallie came up to me and said "Mom, this is the best birthday party ever". I'm glad she is so easy to please! I can't believe she is six already!! Hope you had a great Birthday "Sally" we love you!!

Jellystone

Last Saturday, we hopped in the van and joined the Tew's for a nice relaxing, kid free day. We started out drawing from a bowl as to where we were going to go. The first draw was to Jackpot. None of us were really to excited to go there so we picked again and decided on Yellowstone Park. We went through Jackson and drove home through Island Park. It rained most of the day, but we all had our own umbrella thanks to the Hawker Funeral Home.

We made several stops throughout the day. Sean and Ryan liked to see how far out on the rocks they could get just to scare their wives.

Noel was a little scared, but she went out onto this rock for a picture anyway.

For some reason, the van was really stinky that day!!!! I think there was a couple of geysers inside the van.

This is a picture of Sean trying to throw rocks into the vent of the bathroom. Yah know, to try and stink it up and maybe make a splash. What it doesn't show is that I was in the bathroom at the time. Can you believe that he would do that to his eternal companion?

The snow was still pretty high in this parking lot. We had to take a picture just to show how high it really was. Notice it was snowing on us as well.

This is a very old tour bus. I thought it was so cool that I had to take a picture.

This is a view of Tower Falls. It was very beautiful.

We just happened to drive upon these mountain goats. They didn't look very pretty. I guess they were still losing their winter coats. They had a little baby with them. It was running and climbing up everything.

This is one of four bears that we saw that day. We saw two black bears off the side of the road and we also saw two grizzly bears through a mans scope. The grizzly bears were "playing" way off in a meadow. The man looking through the scope, told me that they were getting ready to "mount". I thought that was pretty funny!

I know, this isn't the greatest picture. If you look real close, there are two moose in the picture. One at the top and one at the bottom of the hill.

This trip was a lot of fun. We got to do a lot of things that we wouldn't have been able to if we would have had our kids. Thanks Kathy for watching them!! We were in the park pretty late and that's why we got to see as many animals as we did. We would like to go back with our kids sometime and stay at Mammoth Hot Springs.

Hello Summer

Ever since the snow melted, Hallie has been asking to get her swimming pool out. Seriously!! It can be so cold outside and she gets mad because we wont set up her pool. Well, she finally got her wish. Even though the water was fresh from the faucet, she dove right in. Dewey put his swimming suit on, but I don't think he ever got in the water.

If only I would stay outside with Dewey all day everyday, this is how happy he would be.

Now it just needs to stop raining so we can do this again sometime!!

Spring Sing

Hallie's class ended the year with a little program called "Spring Sing". They probably sang about 10 different songs. For the last song they sang "this little light of mine" while wearing glasses with flashing lights. These flowers were all around the gym with all of the kids faces on them. I thought they were very creative and fun to look at.

Hallie and Mrs. Crane. She's an excellent teacher and Hallie will miss her.

A Day At the Zoo

Wednesday I had the opportunity to go to the Zoo with Hallie and her class. We hopped on the buses and drove to the Tauphus Park Zoo. Hallie is so into giving me the peace sign lately in all of her pictures. It drives me crazy! I just want a cute picture of her without the peace sign.

This was the little group I was in charge of. l to r Hallie, Lauryn and Kamri. They were a lot of fun.

Here they are watching 11 baby ducklings follow their mother. This area of the Zoo stinks soooo bad!!

The first time we went to see the Lion, it was asleep so they were very excited when we went back and it was awake.

It's always a lot of fun to go on field trips and listen to all of the kids. I can't believe Kindergarten is coming to an end and Hallie is almost a 1st grader.

Memorial Day Weekend

This year for Memorial weekend we went to Sawmill Canyon. Our little family was the first to arrive, so we saved a camping spot and just hung out. Not long after we arrived, we were told by some other campers that they had a wolf walk through their campground the night before. Lets just say, we didn't let the kids get to far out of sight. Hallie and Dewey shared this chair since most of our stuff was in my parents camper.

Sean found a dead tree and decided to be a lumber jack. Our family always leaves a lot of fire wood for the next lucky camper.



This is a baby Elk that our friends just happened to spot close to the side of the road. We made sure not to touch it, incase its mother returned. It was so cute. The following morning it was gone. We were hoping that its mother came back and it didn't get eaten by a wolf. This is probably something we will never see again.



Notice the snow in the background? There was still quite a bit of snow everywhere. This was a very muddy ride up to an old cabin.

Sean and my brother Doug were standing by the fire talking. I asked them to pose for a picture and this is what they did. Nerds!!

Dewey and Rhett were eating Starbursts in this picture. We tried the whole roasting Starbursts and I cannot say that they were all that great. I guess it's a girls camp thing. I think I will stick to Smores.

Dewey was Grandpa's little shadow most of the trip. He helped my Dad do all sorts of things.

This is my sister Deena and her two daughters Cassie and Brandee. I can't believe how grown up they are now!

I really liked this picture of my parents, minus the glare on their glasses.

Marilee threatened me if I put any pictures of her on my blog. Sorry Marilee, but I had to have pictures of who went camping with us. :)

Dewey and Rhett had a lot of fun getting pulled around in the wagon.

This was a fun place for the kids to play. They liked throwing rocks into the water.

This trip was a lot of fun. We did get rained on a little, but not too much. We are looking forward to many more camping trips this summer.
