EASTER

This year Easter kind of started on Saturday night. Grandpa and Grandma Diaz came over and brought the kids some pajamas. After the kids went to bed, Sean came up with some clues and hid the Easter baskets. Hallie was hoping that the Easter Bunny would hide her basket just like the year before. Hallie was excited when she woke up to find all of the clues, but she had to wait for Dewey to wake up first. Hallie got a paint it yourself bird feeder and of course some candy. She has since painted her bird feeder and it is hanging in our plumb tree.

Dewey also got some candy and the movie Bolt. I had a really hard time getting one decent picture with him and his Easter basket!

I took this picture when we got back from church. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures before and Hallie had already changed her clothes.

After church we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Packer's house. Every year they have a big dinner and an Easter egg hunt. My mom also gives the kids a bag full of random little toys.

Dewey was a lot of fun to watch this year. He was actually looking for eggs and knew what to do.

I love this picture of Hallie and Dewey posing.

After all of the eggs are found, each kid finds their own spot to check out their loot.

This is a picture of Me, Paige(niece), Deena(older sister) and Marilee(sis-in-law). In case you are wondering, Paige is sucking on a bunny face sucker.

After my parents house, we went to Grandma and Grandpa McBride's. It was also Kathy's birthday on Easter. She also gave the kids an Easter basket. We are actually pretty lucky to have all of our families live so close. They get to see us every Sunday wether they want to or not. I hope my kids will have a lot of good memories of the annual Easter egg hunt at my moms. I know that is one of my fondest memories that I have with my Grandma Packer.

Monster Cookies and a Naughty Little Boy

A couple of weeks ago, Sean decided to make some cookies with the kids while I was at YW. Sean is usually the strong one in our house when it comes to sweets, but lately he has been just as bad as me. Yes, Sean can cook! He is actually a really good cook. Although, when it comes to baking he still has to ask my advice. Why do sweets have to taste soooo good?
Sean is a lot more patient than I am. I usually let Hallie scoop a few cookies and then I have to finish.

Can you tell Sean was so happy that I was taking his picture? Dewey was!

I caught Hallie dancing with the scoop. I guess she just really loves cookies!

Dewey really is a good little boy, but lately he has been kinda naughty. I caught him climbing on the counter and going through the cupboards. Notice the Saltines in both hands? As soon as he saw the camera he started to pose.

Dewey also likes to climb on the table.

Hello Terrible Two's

Last Saturday was Dewey's second Birthday. We didn't do much, just a party later that night with family. He started out a little quiet and grouchy. Then, Grandpa Diaz gave him an E E ride and cheered him up.
As usual, he was very spoiled. With three sets of grandparents who wouldn't be?! His big sister helped him with his presents.

Every time we go to Walmart, Dewey would play with this Dinosaur. Now that he has it, I can't say that he cares about it all that much. I think Hallie plays with it more than he does. Isn't that how it always works with kids and toys?

I wish I could say that I have a talent for cake decorating, but I don't! I think the candles are probably the coolest thing about the whole cake!

Dewey couldn't quite figure out how to blow the candles out, so his cousin Rhett took care of it for him.

This is a cow tunnel that Dewey got from us. Dewey and Rhett had a lot of fun playing in it. Now that his Birthday is over, I just need to figure out where to put all of his new toys!

Dewey has always been a big boy. It really seems to me that he should be turning three! He has been a fun edition to our little family. He is always making us laugh and he really is a good kid. I guess now I will be concentrating on potty training. Although, I don't think he is quite ready just yet.

Final Winter trip to Island Park

WARNING: This post contains a lot of pictures!
This last weekend we went to Island Park with Sean's family. This is the cabin that we stayed in. This was the 2nd annual McBride Island Park trip. The weather was very nice. Most of the time we didn't even have a coat on.
Hallie requested that I take a picture of her on the stairs.
We found many ways to entertain ourselves. We played:
Rockband,

Arm Wrestling,

Ring a Round the Rosies,

Indian Leg Wrestling,(nobody could beat Boyd!)

We went Sledding,

Went sledding down the stairs,

(this is me and yes it was a lot of fun!)

Card Games,

Sat in the Hot Tub,

Handstands,

Played with cousins,

and we watched Sean and Jake jump their snowmobiles. Notice Jake's legs up in the air.

I think the best part about the trip, was waiting for Boyd's reaction to Sean and Amy's prank. They set an extra alarm for 3:00 am and put it under his bed. It took him a while the next day to realize that it was a prank. The funny thing is, the alarm had a battery back up and went off again the following night. Sean also put a rubberband on the kitchen faucet sprayer and got Kandice. Sean thinks he is pretty funny! I am so glad that I made it through the weekend without any pranks on me!!
