The Big 60

Grandpa Diaz turns the big 60 this year.  We met at Tommy Vaughn's restaurant to celebrate his Birthday.
Robbie, Katrina, and their boys came down for Easter and were able to be here for the party.  All of the kids except for little David.

6 Years Old

Dewey recently turned 6 on March 28th.  We had cake and ice cream and the grandparents came over for a little party.
Hallie gave Dewey some silly putty and a cool color changing pen.  Her class had an auction and she was very thoughtful and bought Dewey some presents for his Birthday.

He got some shoes, a ball and some shin guards for soccer this summer.
Grandma Diaz made him this cool blanket.
The next day, Dewey had a party with friends and cousins at the Community Center.  He wanted to have a soccer ball pinata.

Waiting for their turn to hit the pinata.

As you can see, they were very excited when it finally broke.
We had pizza and bread sticks.  Man these little boys can eat a lot of food.

The cupcakes were a little messy.  One of the boys said that his Mom would never let him put frosting on his face.  :)
Dewey got a lot of cool presents from his friends and had a lot of fun at his party.

Cross Country Skiing at Harriman

We spent a Saturday with some of our family skiing at Harriman.  Here we are in the parking lot putting on our gear.
This was our group, minus Dawnette(she was taking the picture).
Deena may have overdressed just a little.  :)
We stopped at the Becker warming hut to eat our lunch.
Sean and Austin taking a break on a bench that some scout made for his eagle project.  The bottom of the bench was made with snowboards.
Austin ran and jumped into the snow.
Here is Sean trying to get back up.  He may have fallen a few times.  :)
Here we are trying to decide which route to take.  We ended up taking an ungroomed trail along the lake.  It was quite a bit harder, but a lot of fun.

A Trip to Urgent Care

Hank recently got to take a little trip to urgent care.  He was climbing up on a stool to get some fruit snacks and fell.  I found him laying on his stomach with his arm out.  I noticed a bruise on the left side of his forehead and figured he had just bonked his head.  After rocking him for 25 minutes and he was still crying off and on, I noticed he didn't want to move his left arm.  Sean and I decided to take him to urgent care to get checked out.  We got there just as they were getting ready to close.  After being examined and crying when they asked him to give a high five, they decided to take an x-ray.  They came back into the room and told us that he did fracture his left collar bone.  They gave him an 8 brace to wear for 3-4 weeks that holds his shoulders back.  He was a little sore for the first little while and he had 1 sleepless night, but he really has done pretty well.  It only took him a few days and he was back climbing the stool to get to his beloved fruit snacks.  :)

Valentine's Day

The kids had a lot of fun on Valentine's Day.  Hallie and Dewey each got a new pair of basketball shorts.

Hank got the Curious George movie.
Thanks to Pinterest, we had a lot of Valentine ideas.  These were Hallie's.  Pink for girls and black for the boys.  The mustache had a sticky back that the kids could wear.
These were Dewey's.  Blue for boys and pink for the girls.
They also gave these brownie mixes to their teachers.

Missing Tooth

Dewey lost his very first tooth.  His tooth was just starting to get wiggly and he and Hallie were wrestling around one day.  Dewey leaned over and bit Hallie in the butt.  He stood up and said his mouth was bleeding and pulled his tooth out.  Kind of funny how it happened.  :)

Fun with Grandma

Grandma McBride, Hallie, Dewey, and Sayer had a lot of fun building this Snowman together.
