EBR 1 and Cedar Creek

Every time we go camping, we pass the first nuclear reactor called EBR 1 and talk about how we need to take the kids there.  Last Friday we finally made it there.  Ryan, Avery, and Jette came with us.

Here are the kids standing by the reactor.

Everyone had fun playing with the manipulator's.  Even though it was way over their head's(and mine) we had fun.

After we left EBR 1, we drove to Mackey to go on a hike up Cedar Creek.

About half way up, there is an old dam.

The trail is pretty nice and has a few bridges and a stair case along the way.

This is the view at the top.  The water just shoots right out of the side of the mountain.  It was really cool to see.

After our hike we built a fire and roasted hot dogs for dinner.

While we were eating, we had some company up above us.

Ryan brought some guns for the kids to shoot.  This was Hank's first time shooting a gun.  On the way out, we saw a ton of jack rabbit's along the road and the boys had to stop and get in some target practice.  The kids loved it and we had a great day.

Soccer 2014

Once again, Dewey decided to play soccer.  His team has 5 boys and 2 girls.  They call themselves "Blackfoot Fire".  He has been a lot more focused on the ball this year.

 Gino, Sayer, Royce, Dewey, Jaden, Brianna and not pictured is Kianna.

 This picture shows Sayer and Dewey perfectly.  Sayer is very focused and wants to win and Dewey is just out to have a good time.  :)

 Sean and Jake are the coaches.  Jaden saw me taking a picture and gave me a real nice pose.  :)

11 years old

 Hallie turned 11 on June 10th.  I can't believe that in 1 more year she will be 12 and get to go to Young Women's.

 Hallie really likes pigs and Shaylee and Gracie both painted her a picture for her room.

 I got Hallie this magazine because it has the band R5 in it and we bought her tickets to go to their concert in September.  She is so excited!!

These 3 girls are all the same age.  Hallie is about 4 1/2 months younger than Gracie and 3 months older than Shaylee.  It has been a lot of fun watching them grow up.

Antelope 2014

The first weekend in June, we went with the McBride family to Antelope.

 Hank and Sari went on a little adventure around the creek.

 It didn't take long for Preston to get really dirty.

 Dewey and Sayer wanted to help chop wood.

On Friday, we went on a hike to Iron Bog Lake.  The kids rode in the back of Grandpa's truck until we got to the trail head.  It was a bumpy ride.

 There were several little spots where water was coming out of the mountain onto the trail.  Sean carried Hank over all of them.

 Here we are at the lake.  It was 1 1/2 miles to the lake.  Hank and Sari did so good.

 We stopped to eat lunch and relax on this big rock.

 Iron Bog Lake

 Later that night, after the McDermott's arrived, we had a grilled cheese competition.  Sean made one with cream cheese, jalapenos, bacon, and monterrey jack cheese.  It was amazing!!

 Grandpa and Grandma made sliders with ham, greer cheese, and mustard.  This one and Sean's were my favorite.

 Amy and Jake made 3 different sandwiches.  Jake was creative and made one with macaroni and cheese and hot dogs.  Kandice made one with apple slices and caramel.

 Hank and I were waiting in the camper for everyone else to come to bed and we decided to take some pictures.  He wanted me to be a fish and he would be a shark.

 The next morning, we went on another hike to Brockie Lake.  Grandma stayed back with most of the little ones, but Hank decided he was coming because he wanted to go fishing.

 We had a few pit stops along the way.  :)  I couldn't resist!

 This is what we saw when we first got to the lake.  It was half froze over, but we still had a few areas where we could fish.  This was a 2 mile hike to the lake.  The little boys spotted a mountain goat when we were almost to the top.  It was a little too far to get a good picture.

 Nobody had any worms, so we used spinners.  Sean caught 3 fish and let each of our kids cast one in.

 Dewey was first, but he wouldn't touch the fish.

 Hank was next.  He was so happy to catch a fish, that it made two days of hiking worth it.

 Hallie gave it a good try to catch her own fish, but no luck.  We ended up making a fire and cooking the fish before we left.

 Before we got ready to leave, we decided to take a few pictures.  It started to get really cold.

This was such a fun camping trip and we can't wait to go again!!
